After 4 minutes, Florentin Wienecke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Feldkante and the Großengottern players grew even worse after the yellow card. Florentin Wienecke hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Feldkante's Erwin Plehn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Feldkante from getting a goal against them. Kristian Assmann's late challenge caught a Feldkante's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Assmann helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Großengottern getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kristian Assmann hit a great ball. Alfons Raeder received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erwin Plehn came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfons Raeder slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. In the 24th match minute, Großengottern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hank Peuckert to maneuver through the defense. Ferdl Riemer struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Otfried Gellrich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Feldkante. After a rather tough play, Großengottern's Lion Liebherr got a free kick in the 31st minute. Ferdl Riemer might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otfried Gellrich. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferdl Riemer ran back to his position shaking his head. After 35 played minutes Großengottern got a freekick which was hit by Wolf Aumann. Aage Boller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 39 minutes of play, Feldkante's Benni Burka made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Otfried Gellrich was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Aage Boller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Feldkante's supporters rose to their feet, but Aage Boller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otfried Gellrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lion Liebherr's late challenge caught a Feldkante's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The Feldkante fans' excitement grew in the 50th match minute when Feldkante's Kilian Bechthold looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aage Boller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Feldkante's goal looked a bit too open when Lion Liebherr came free, but Erwin Plehn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 played minutes Großengottern got a freekick which was hit by Aimo Koppermann. With his leg Otfried Gellrich managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Feldkante's Aage Boller fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Ferdl Riemer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erwin Plehn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfons Raeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Feldkante's Aage Boller in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Großengottern's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Großengottern's Wolf Aumann got a free kick in the 71st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Großengottern's zone, Aage Boller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otfried Gellrich came out of the goal and Aage Boller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Otfried Gellrich made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aage Boller in the 75th minute. Aage Boller who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Otfried Gellrich when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Feldkante booed when Großengottern was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lion Liebherr didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Benni Burka came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Feldkante fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benni Burka couldn't finish the play. Otfried Gellrich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdl Riemer in the 81st minute of the match. If Benni Burka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otfried Gellrich was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aage Boller showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 94 minute of play. Feldkante's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
