Henning Bartz made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Claudius Boehm sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vito Wisgalla during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute, Franz Heidrich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esau Budden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anton Heidsiek. Brunnadern FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vito Wisgalla in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henning Bartz saved Schalke 04 from getting behind. 19 minutes into the game, Vito Wisgalla recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Henning Bartz. Vito Wisgalla showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Vito Wisgalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Henning Bartz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vito Wisgalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henning Bartz having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henning Gallois in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anton Heidsiek saved Brunnadern FC from getting behind. Vito Wisgalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henning Bartz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Brunnadern FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Anton Heidsiek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Dörfler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vito Wisgalla in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henning Bartz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 61 minutes into the match, Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Juliane Quack came free, but Henning Bartz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Vito Wisgalla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henning Bartz was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. A collision led to Schalke 04 getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Esau Budden hit a great ball. When Vito Wisgalla came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Brunnadern FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Wisgalla couldn't finish the play. Henning Bartz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After having played for 87 minutes, Vito Wisgalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brunnadern FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vito Wisgalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Schalke 04's Henning Bartz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Wisgalla in the 91st minute of play. When Schalke 04's Andreas Dörfler in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
