Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lenny Wesener took the kick off in the first half of the match. Nördlingen Fc's Lenny Wesener got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Nördlingen Fc booed when Schalke 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karel Krause didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schalke 04's goalkeeper Henning Bartz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 13thth minute of the game Michael Heuchel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schalke 04's Henning Bartz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Henning Bartz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenny Wesener, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Henning Gallois recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 21 played minutes, Schalke 04's Fred Ostertag shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hartmut Wexler came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Schalke 04 reached it. The supporters of Schalke 04 booed when Nördlingen Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Schönfelder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andreas Dörfler in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hartmut Wexler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Gallois in the 25th minute of play forced Nördlingen Fc's goalkeeper Hartmut Wexler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Henning Gallois managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Henning Gallois was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hartmut Wexler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd match minute, Schalke 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kilian Bogner to maneuver through the defense. Henning Gallois struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Hartmut Wexler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schalke 04. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kilian Bogner in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hartmut Wexler saved Nördlingen Fc from getting behind. Henning Gallois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Hartmut Wexler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henning Bartz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Heuchel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Heuchel came free, but Henning Bartz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andreas Dörfler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hartmut Wexler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kilian Bogner in the 53rd minute of the match. Andreas Dörfler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 62 minutes into the match, Michael Heuchel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henning Bartz. Schalke 04's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michael Heuchel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Michael Heuchel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Henning Bartz made a huge save. In the 75th minute Andreas Dörfler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hartmut Wexler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Schalke 04's Henning Bartz got control of the ball when Michael Heuchel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henning Gallois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hartmut Wexler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Gallois in the 81st minute of play forced Nördlingen Fc's goalkeeper Hartmut Wexler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Nördlingen Fc getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Felipe Schönfelder hit a great ball. Schalke 04's Henning Bartz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenny Wesener in the 96th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
