Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Dörfler in the 6th minute of play forced Hauwech's goalkeeper Peter Gelb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Henning Gallois managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Henning Gallois was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Gelb breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 12 minutes, Andreas Dörfler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schalke 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas Dörfler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Gelb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Dörfler, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 17 played minutes Hauwech got a freekick which was hit by Sascha Andre Sanger. Henning Gallois who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Peter Gelb when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Peter Gelb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Dörfler in the 19th minute of the match. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hauwech! Peter Gelb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Dörfler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andreas Dörfler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Gelb having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Schalke 04's Andreas Dörfler slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Peter Gelb. That made the score 2-0 after 37 minutes of play. Hauwech's Peter Gelb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kilian Bogner in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hauwech's Sascha Andre Sanger got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andreas Dörfler in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Gelb prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 45 played minutes Hauwech got a freekick which was hit by Werner Berlin. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andreas Dörfler to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Henning Gallois sped through Hauwech's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peter Gelb. Peter Gelb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Dörfler in the 55th minute of play. Peter Gelb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Gallois in the 57th minute of the match. When Schalke 04's Andreas Dörfler in 58 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Peter Gelb guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 59 minutes into the game, Claudius Lühmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hauwech's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schalke 04 the free kick. Claudius Lühmann kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Peter Gelb stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andreas Dörfler's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute Andreas Dörfler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Gelb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bastian Funkel helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Hauwech got a freekick which was hit by Bastian Funkel. If Henning Gallois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Gelb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Dörfler, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Andreas Dörfler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter Gelb. Hauwech's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andreas Dörfler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. If Linus Mönnich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henning Gallois struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Peter Gelb didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schalke 04. 90 minutes into the match, Andreas Dörfler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter Gelb. Hauwech's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andreas Dörfler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Andreas Dörfler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hauwech's goalkeeper Peter Gelb, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Schalke 04 players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
