Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Erhard Graf got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samson Kupke in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gülsün Bleicher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, SuS Gurke's Andrew Kuppermann got control of the ball when Andreas Ruge tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Andreas Ruge could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Andrew Kuppermann however easily saved by the left post. The Overath fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Overath's Andreas Ruge looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Andrew Kuppermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Ruge, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 30th minute, Silvio Vuchelich left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SuS Gurke fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Gülsün Bleicher didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gernot Mantovan went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andreas Ruge got free with Andrew Kuppermann in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gülsün Bleicher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samson Kupke in the 39th minute of play. Andrew Kuppermann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andreas Ruge went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Ron Schauerte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Kuppermann having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Samson Kupke to strike the kick off in the second half. Andrew Kuppermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erhard Graf, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andreas Ruge in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrew Kuppermann saved SuS Gurke from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Andreas Ruge managed to get in a good position for a shot. Overath's supporters rose to their feet, but Andreas Ruge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrew Kuppermann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albrecht Riemer in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrew Kuppermann saved SuS Gurke from getting behind. Andrew Kuppermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Ruge in the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Overath booed when SuS Gurke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samson Kupke didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute Samson Kupke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gülsün Bleicher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrew Kuppermann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Ruge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Overath's Andreas Ruge got a free kick in the 78th minute. Andreas Ruge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Kuppermann having to interfere. If Andreas Ruge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
