The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clark Bliska hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The score was now 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Albrecht Kuntz came free, but Faruk Korff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Schalke 04's attack was well implemented in the 16th minute, but when Frederik Naumann was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Frederik Naumann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gunter Früh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Wank FC's goalkeeper Gunter Früh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Frederik Naumann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wank FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jeremy Petters hit a great ball. Micha-Alexander Bachmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gunter Früh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Wank FC's Clark Bliska got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute of the match Bero Huff shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gunter Früh showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Micha-Alexander Bachmann in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gunter Früh saved Wank FC from getting behind. In the last second Faruk Korff throw himself and got hold of the ball when Albrecht Kuntz in the 39thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Frederik Naumann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Gunter Früh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabian Döngelli charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabian Döngelli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wank FC booed when Schalke 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Döngelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 52 minutes of play, Wank FC's Albrecht Kuntz made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Faruk Korff was left in no man's land by his defense there! Faruk Korff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albrecht Kuntz, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Schalke 04's Friedel Rack got a free kick in the 64th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Wank FC's Jeremy Petters tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. During the 74th minute of the match Fabian Döngelli completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fabian Döngelli a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Fabian Döngelli hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Egon Preuß managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wank FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Egon Preuß was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faruk Korff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80thth minute of the game Albrecht Kuntz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schalke 04's Faruk Korff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Egon Preuß had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Micha-Alexander Bachmanns short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Gunter Früh to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
