Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gordon Schipploch started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esens's goalkeeper Adam Reichwein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Egon Hochhaus hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Esens's Adam Reichwein got control of the ball when Fernando Hahn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Holger Kenty charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Holger Kenty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Balduin Rietschel took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Adam Reichwein to make any attempt to save it. Billy Kraus lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Rockhausen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Esens:s goal. 21 minutes into the match, Esens's goalkeeper Adam Reichwein had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Hahn. In the 22nd match minute, Esens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Burkhard Gutjahr to maneuver through the defense. Pär Hertel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gordon Schipploch went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Adam Reichwein was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fernando Hahn showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 33 minute of play. Pär Hertel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gordon Schipploch in the 37th minute of play. Rafael Klemt hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the game, Rachid Kilz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Pär Hertel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Rockhausen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esens were winning 2-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Hahn to strike the kick off in the second half. Rachid Kilz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Esens getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Frans Bornscheuer hit a great ball. If Fernando Hahn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon Schipploch received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pär Hertel came out and tried to block the shot, but Gordon Schipploch slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 66th minute. When Rafael Klemt fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockhausen's protests and gave Rafael Klemt a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Rafael Klemt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pär Hertel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gordon Schipploch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 played minutes Esens got a freekick which was hit by Gordon Schipploch. After a rather tough play, Esens's Derek Utzig got a free kick in the 75th minute. Esens's Adam Reichwein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Heitland in the 76th minute of play. If Gordon Schipploch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek Utzig looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Pär Hertel. After 93rd play minutes Fernando Hahn shot 3-5, a short shot which went by Adam Reichwein and just under the crossbar into goal. Rachid Kilz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Pär Hertel made a huge save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Esens had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
