Achim Ziener recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Winfried Lammertz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geiselwind's supporters rose to their feet, but Winfried Lammertz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erwin Knappe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 7th minute, Ralf Lade made a precise shot to the right of Kasimir Spethmann. Geiselwind's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Heinz Hauer in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Erwin Knappe, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Lukas Pieper came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Geiselwind fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lukas Pieper couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heinz Hauer in the 13th minute of play forced Rottenbauer's goalkeeper Erwin Knappe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erwin Knappe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Winfried Lammertz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kasimir Spethmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf Scherer in the 17th minute of play. When Heinz Hauer came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Geiselwind fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heinz Hauer couldn't finish the play. When Kostas Kathan fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rottenbauer's protests and gave Kostas Kathan a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes Rottenbauer got a freekick which was hit by Kostas Kathan. Kasimir Spethmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Lade, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Achim Ziener managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geiselwind's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achim Ziener was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Heinz Hauer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Achim Ziener hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Kasimir Spethmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralf Scherer in the 30th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Winfried Lammertz got free with Erwin Knappe in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 played minutes Rottenbauer got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Krughöfer. After having played for 34 minutes, Winfried Lammertz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geiselwind's supporters crossed their fingers, but Winfried Lammertz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lukas Pieper who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Erwin Knappe when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Erwin Knappe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Achim Ziener in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ralf Scherer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lukas Pieper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heinz Hauer in the 54th minute of play forced Rottenbauer's goalkeeper Erwin Knappe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Geiselwind getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Gunter Marsching hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Achim Ziener got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rottenbauer! Erwin Knappe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heinz Hauer in the 76th minute of the match. Gunter Marsching helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 played minutes Geiselwind got a freekick which was hit by Gunter Marsching. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukas Pieper in the 90th minute of play forced Rottenbauer's goalkeeper Erwin Knappe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Achim Ziener received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Erwin Knappe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Geiselwind players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
