Rudi Uedickoven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Jan Mächtel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Govelin's Charly Kösters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank-Ulrich Wedemeyer in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th of the match, Maurizio Reimann tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Jan Mächtel got in the way and made a wonderful save. If Uli Walcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Frank-Ulrich Wedemeyer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charly Kösters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Frank-Ulrich Wedemeyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Charly Kösters didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Uli Walcher went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Yildiz Hildebrand charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yildiz Hildebrand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute, one of Govelin:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Govelin. When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, Wieckenberg FSV's Paul Birkner got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Charly Kösters. Charly Kösters showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uli Walcher, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After a rather tough play, Govelin's Mark Schwarzbach got a free kick in the 94th minute. Hasso Schewe hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The supporters of Govelin booed when Wieckenberg FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andy Hofer didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Wieckenberg FSV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Govelin throughout the match.
