Lester Schlottmann kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. When Selm Bork's Gregor Barnett in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gregor Barnett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Zukrigl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Gregor Barnett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marco Zukrigl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Selm Bork fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Selm Bork's Gregor Barnett looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marco Kohler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Zukrigl having to interfere. Harry Steffen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Zukrigl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Marco Kohler charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Kohler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Selm Bork getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Marco Kohler hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Selm Bork's Lukas Friz got a free kick in the 27th minute. The supporters of SC Halberg booed when Selm Bork was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Kohler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Raphael Magath shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fritz Ohmer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Gregor Barnett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Harry Steffen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Halberg's Marco Zukrigl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregor Barnett in the 46th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baptist Klee during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 49 minutes SC Halberg's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hartwig Onaran who took care of the corner kick. Hartwig Onaran made a great header on Selm Bork's corner, it was just that SC Halberg's Marco Zukrigl managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harry Steffen was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Dan Mokros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the game, Selm Bork's Gregor Barnett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Zukrigl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Joseph Olbers's late challenge caught a Selm Bork's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joseph Olbers helped the player get up and apologised. Joseph Olbers kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Selm Bork's Hartwig Onaran shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 60th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marco Zukrigl but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, SC Halberg's Baptist Klee got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 66th minute, Gregor Barnett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Selm Bork fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Marco Zukrigl was a little too slow when Harry Steffen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 0-6. A collision led to Selm Bork getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gero Wagenblast hit a great ball. When SC Halberg's Marco Köstner in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 82 played minutes SC Halberg got a freekick which was hit by Lutz Schnell. 89 minutes into the match, SC Halberg's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Steffen came free, but Marco Zukrigl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, SC Halberg's Marco Zukrigl got control of the ball when Gregor Barnett tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marco Zukrigl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Steffen, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After some careless play in the SC Halberg defense, Gregor Barnett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Zukrigl. The SC Halberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Zukrigl should have stopped the shot.
