Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Niko Homann kicked off to start the match. Burkhard Bachmann's late challenge caught a BSC Young Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Burkhard Bachmann helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd match minute, FC Bremerhaven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Burkhard Bachmann to maneuver through the defense. If Hieronymus König had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind BSC Young Boys's goalkeeper Eberhard Fritzenwanker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alois Wirtz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Efraim Boehm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Efraim Boehm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Linus Böwering, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bremerhaven's zone, Alois Wirtz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Efraim Boehm came out of the goal and Alois Wirtz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Bremerhaven's Burkhard Bachmann got his second yellow card of the match in the 27th minute. The referee ordered Burkhard Bachmann off the ground. 29 minutes into the match, FC Bremerhaven's goal looked a bit too open when Alois Wirtz came free, but Efraim Boehm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alois Wirtz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efraim Boehm having to interfere. Efraim Boehm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Linus Böwering, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Alois Wirtz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alois Wirtz to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alois Wirtz in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Efraim Boehm saved FC Bremerhaven from getting behind. Linus Böwering in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Efraim Boehm, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as BSC Young Boys's Alois Wirtz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Efraim Boehm. That made the score 0-1 after 59 minutes of play. After having played for 65 minutes, Hieronymus König managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Bremerhaven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hieronymus König was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Meik Zahn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Efraim Boehm didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 69th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Alois Wirtz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clark Doderer, 75 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, BSC Young Boys's Meik Zahn got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Alois Wirtz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efraim Boehm didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Linus Böwering went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Efraim Boehm was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alois Wirtz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 83 minute of play. Efraim Boehm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alois Wirtz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 played minutes FC Bremerhaven got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Käding. BSC Young Boys played a much better game than FC Bremerhaven and deserved their victory. The FC Bremerhaven players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
