Charly Kösters was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the match, Govelin's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Steffen came free, but Charly Kösters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charly Kösters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Steffen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charly Kösters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Steffen in the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gregor Barnett in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charly Kösters prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rudi Uedickoven scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fritz Ohmer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Selm Bork's Harry Steffen in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Govelin's goalie prevented a goal. Selm Bork's Harry Steffen got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harry Steffen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charly Kösters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Steffen in the 40th minute of the match. Harry Steffen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregor Barnett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charly Kösters having to interfere. After 45th play minutes Harry Steffen shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Charly Kösters and just under the crossbar into goal. The Govelin players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Selm Bork were winning 1-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregor Barnett in the 56th minute of play forced Govelin's goalkeeper Charly Kösters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregor Barnett's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Charly Kösters firmly grabbed it by the left post. Charly Kösters was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hartwig Onaran. In the 70th minute, Harry Steffen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Govelin getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Mark Schwarzbach hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Hartwig Onaran shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Charly Kösters showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Charly Kösters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Steffen in the 74th minute of play. A collision led to Govelin getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Mark Schwarzbach hit a great ball. Harry Steffen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Govelin's Charly Kösters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Govelin from getting a goal against them. Selm Bork's Gregor Barnett got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Govelin's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Steffen came free, but Charly Kösters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Alfred Marienfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Steffen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Selm Bork could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Govelin throughout the match.
