When Uli Walcher came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Wieckenberg FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uli Walcher couldn't finish the play. Uli Walcher struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Eberhard Fritzenwanker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wieckenberg FSV. After some careless play in the BSC Young Boys defense, Frank-Ulrich Wedemeyer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eberhard Fritzenwanker. The BSC Young Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eberhard Fritzenwanker should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Alois Wirtz managed to get in a good position for a shot.
