FC Bremerhaven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niko Homann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th match minute, Govelin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Inger to maneuver through the defense. Alfred Marienfeld hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute FC Bremerhaven were awarded a corner. Clark Doderer went to the cornerflag to take it. Efraim Boehm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurizio Reimann in the 63rd minute of play. In the 69th minute, Maurizio Reimann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Niko Homann managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Bremerhaven's supporters rose to their feet, but Niko Homann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charly Kösters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the match, Govelin's goal looked a bit too open when Niko Homann came free, but Charly Kösters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 minutes, Alfred Marienfeld mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Govelin and the FC Bremerhaven players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Alfred Marienfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Bremerhaven's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
