After a rather tough play, fc-augustin's Morten Heinsch got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Achim Weidenhammer, 3 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Wattenscheid's Vaclav Nahles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timm Abernett narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manfred Lazarus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albrecht Laing having to interfere. Albrecht Laing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfred Lazarus in the 17th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, fc-augustin's Manfred Lazarus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albrecht Laing made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. fc-augustin's Lucian Degner suffered a concussion after 21 minutes and had to leave the field. Timm Abernett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Liche, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. A collision led to Wattenscheid getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Esteban Leutheusser hit a great ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Vaclav Nahles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wattenscheid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vaclav Nahles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Fabian Liche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wattenscheid's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Liche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timm Abernett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabian Liche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Timm Abernett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Wattenscheid booed when fc-augustin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee Hertl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabian Liche struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Timm Abernett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wattenscheid. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fritz Rudolf Bieling made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Fritz Rudolf Bieling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albrecht Laing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. fc-augustin's Timm Abernett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaclav Nahles in the 55th minute of play. Fabian Liche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Timm Abernett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabian Liche succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 84th playminute. After 87 played minutes Wattenscheid got a freekick which was hit by Vaclav Nahles. Mario Ringels kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Timm Abernett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vaclav Nahles's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vaclav Nahles in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Timm Abernett saved fc-augustin from getting behind. 95 minutes into the match, Fabian Liche dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Timm Abernett, 1-3. When the match was over Wattenscheid could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than fc-augustin throughout the match.
