Bo Söhner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Oliver Noak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elmar Bordorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klemens Aicher in the 20th minute of play. Backenberg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Ulf Kozub scored to the left of an out of position Oliver Noak, making the score, 2-0. Marcel Barges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Elmar Bordorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to FC Union Mühlhausen getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Emil Welz hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Klemens Aicher sped through FC Union Mühlhausen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elmar Bordorf. 33 minutes into the game, Zlatan Struck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Union Mühlhausen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Backenberg the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, FC Union Mühlhausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zlatan Struck to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Kozub in the 51st minute of play forced Backenberg's goalkeeper Oliver Noak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Backenberg defense, Ulf Kozub kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oliver Noak. The Backenberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oliver Noak should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bo Söhner in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Noak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ulf Kozub sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute Bo Söhner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Noak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th match minute, Backenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Meister to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Backenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Söhner came free, but Oliver Noak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Kubica's late challenge caught a Backenberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Kubica helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, FC Union Mühlhausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Kubica to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Marcel Barges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elmar Bordorf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, FC Union Mühlhausen's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Barges came free, but Elmar Bordorf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
