Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Elters's Florian Wolber started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wesley Teupel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steffen Feuerstein in the 5th minute of play. Wesley Teupel came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by SV Darmstadt 98's Helmut Heeringa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radomil Fürderer in the 29th minute of play forced Elters's goalkeeper Wesley Teupel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SV Darmstadt 98's Artur Kopplin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bastian Stupp in the 34th minute of play. Wesley Teupel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steffen Feuerstein in the 37th minute of play. After 40 minutes of play, SV Darmstadt 98's Steffen Feuerstein made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wesley Teupel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wolf Gleißberg kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Steffen Feuerstein to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steffen Feuerstein got free with Wesley Teupel in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Steffen Feuerstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Elters defense, Steffen Feuerstein kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wesley Teupel. The Elters fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wesley Teupel should have stopped the shot. Florian Wolber took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artur Kopplin. Artur Kopplin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radomil Fürderer got free with Wesley Teupel in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Florian Wolber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Kopplin having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Fredi Aichler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wesley Teupel made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Radomil Fürderer sent off a good shot on target. Özcan Wenck charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Özcan Wenck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Steffen Feuerstein left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Darmstadt 98 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. The supporters of SV Darmstadt 98 booed when Elters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Thomaschewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Egbert Mühlstein came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the SV Darmstadt 98 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egbert Mühlstein couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Radomil Fürderer took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Wesley Teupel to make any attempt to save it. Helmut Heeringa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wesley Teupel came out and tried to block the shot, but Helmut Heeringa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 95th minute. The Elters fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SV Darmstadt 98 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
