Spectators: 7481 (Terracing: 5612, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Florian Wolber started the match with the kick off. Wesley Teupel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinhard Dinar in the 2nd minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Geilnau's goal looked a bit too open when Bastian Stupp came free, but Götz Kaus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute Samuel Desoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley Teupel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florian Wolber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fredi Aichler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Götz Kaus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florian Wolber's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Reinald Schwensen took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wesley Teupel. Wesley Teupel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, Geilnau's Gary Uhl got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Elters's goalkeeper Wesley Teupel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rollo Deutschmann. 27 minutes into the match, Samuel Desoi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wesley Teupel, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinald Schwensen got free with Wesley Teupel in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eros Popoola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Götz Kaus having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florian Wolber in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Götz Kaus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bastian Stupp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Götz Kaus having to make a save. Gerd-Peter Hocke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Götz Kaus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Florian Wolber put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Götz Kaus. Götz Kaus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Wolber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samuel Desoi was the one to do the kick off. Gerd-Peter Hocke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Götz Kaus having to make a save. When Gary Uhl fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Geilnau's protests and gave Gary Uhl a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Elters booed when Geilnau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gary Uhl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Helge Böhm didn't quite understand what happened when in the 56 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. When Bastian Stupp came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Elters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bastian Stupp couldn't finish the play. Gerd-Peter Hocke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Götz Kaus having to interfere. A collision led to Geilnau getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Georges Wächter hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florian Wolber in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Götz Kaus saved Geilnau from getting behind. If Florian Wolber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bastian Stupp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fredi Aichler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Götz Kaus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Bastian Stupp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Götz Kaus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fredi Aichler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Götz Kaus having to interfere. When Elters's Florian Wolber in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Geilnau's goalie prevented a goal. Elters's Bastian Stupp got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geilnau succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Elters had controlled the match.
