A collision led to FC Union Mühlhausen getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Jan Kubica hit a great ball. Daniel Maurer struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. After 17 minutes, Steffen Bracke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SV KAYZ and the FC Union Mühlhausen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SV KAYZ's Steffen Bracke got a free kick in the 18th minute. 18 minutes into the match, FC Union Mühlhausen's Emil Welz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of FC Union Mühlhausen booed when SV KAYZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattes Happach didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Ulf Kozub managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Union Mühlhausen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulf Kozub was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ede Blüher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 26 played minutes FC Union Mühlhausen got a freekick which was hit by Emil Welz. Bo Söhner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ede Blüher having to interfere. FC Union Mühlhausen's Elmar Bordorf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Maurer in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of SV KAYZ booed when FC Union Mühlhausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Tochtermann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emil Gniech's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elmar Bordorf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Daniel Maurer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Kubica kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Carsten Kaehlitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to FC Union Mühlhausen getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ullrich Körper hit a great ball. Daniel Maurer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Elmar Bordorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Maurer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

SV KAYZ's Ede Blüher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulf Kozub in the 53rd minute of play. If Bo Söhner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Maurer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Bordorf having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of FC Union Mühlhausen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SV KAYZ:s goal. Bo Söhner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bo Söhner took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ede Blüher. Ede Blüher dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Emil Gniech shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Daniel Maurer struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Elmar Bordorf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV KAYZ. In the 100th minute, Carsten Kaehlitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
