Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Steffen Feuerstein took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of SV Darmstadt 98 booed when Wattenscheid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sébastien Hempelmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Krister Neubauer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Kopplin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. SV Darmstadt 98's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Vaclav Nahles scored to the left of an out of position Artur Kopplin, making the score, 1-0. Steffen Feuerstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albrecht Laing having to interfere. Fabian Liche showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 40 minutes into the game, Krister Neubauer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wattenscheid's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Darmstadt 98 the free kick. Krister Neubauer hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Vaclav Nahles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Artur Kopplin. That made the score 3-0 in the 44 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Vaclav Nahles made the kick off in the second half. Vaclav Nahles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Artur Kopplin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SV Darmstadt 98 fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when SV Darmstadt 98's Steffen Feuerstein looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The SV Darmstadt 98 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. SV Darmstadt 98's Artur Kopplin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Liche in the 62nd minute of play. Artur Kopplin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vaclav Nahles, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Helmut Heeringa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Albrecht Laing, 3-3. Özcan Wenck hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Wattenscheid:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SV Darmstadt 98:s goal. Radomil Fürderer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Albrecht Laing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albrecht Laing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helmut Heeringa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Helmut Heeringa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albrecht Laing having to interfere. Holger Lamp's late challenge caught a SV Darmstadt 98's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Holger Lamp helped the player get up and apologised. Holger Lamp hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SV Darmstadt 98 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
