Erik Wegmann's late challenge caught a Wichelnförth FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Wegmann helped the player get up and apologised. Erik Wegmann hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Jerry Schünemann, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Manchester City's Luis Schnurrer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Spahn in the 9th minute of play. Luis Schnurrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Spahn in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Timm Schräder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wichelnförth FC's Thilo Gunter Gennburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eiko Köhler in the 15th minute of play. Sylvain Trommer kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Manchester City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Bruno Spahn scored to the left of an out of position Luis Schnurrer, making the score, 1-0. Luis Schnurrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Spahn in the 24th minute of play. Eiko Köhler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Thilo Gunter Gennburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thilo Gunter Gennburg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timm Schräder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Timm Schräder in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thilo Gunter Gennburg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eiko Köhler was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Nicolas Probst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wichelnförth FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolas Probst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Wichelnförth FC's Bruno Spahn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luis Schnurrer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Manchester City's Timm Schräder dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Manchester City's Luis Schnurrer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Probst in the 64th minute of play. Timm Schräder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luis Schnurrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Probst in the 71st minute of play. When Eiko Köhler came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eiko Köhler couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Wichelnförth FC's Thilo Gunter Gennburg got control of the ball when Timm Schräder tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Detmar Höfer fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wichelnförth FC's protests and gave Detmar Höfer a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Wichelnförth FC got a freekick which was hit by Detmar Höfer. When Manchester City's Eiko Köhler in 81 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Thilo Gunter Gennburg guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Thilo Gunter Gennburg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eiko Köhler's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Thilo Gunter Gennburg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Eiko Köhler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timm Schräder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thilo Gunter Gennburg having to interfere.
