After 5 minutes, Louis Schroth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Krampnitz FSV and the MSV Duisburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Heiner Merod came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Krampnitz FSV fans jumped to their feet. Balduin Johannsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Balduin Johannsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franz Hasselbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Franz Hasselbach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Balduin Johannsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Battista Pechkopf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Balduin Johannsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Balduin Johannsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Battista Pechkopf in the 36th minute of play. Franz Hasselbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balduin Johannsen having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franz Hasselbach in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Balduin Johannsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind MSV Duisburg's goalkeeper Christoph Schardt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, MSV Duisburg's Levi Dauenhauer got a free kick in the 56th minute. Felix Plaas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balduin Johannsen having to interfere. The nice shot from Battista Pechkopf in the 91stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Balduin Johannsen had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Franz Hasselbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Balduin Johannsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franz Hasselbach in the 98th minute of play. MSV Duisburg's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
