In the 4th minute Ingo Keller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Schnurrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Feridun Krieglmeier came free, but Luis Schnurrer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Dinslakener Bruch getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Lemmy Brozé hit a great ball. Kjeld Gravius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eiko Köhler's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. If Timm Schräder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Helgi Suhrke hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Feridun Krieglmeier struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Luis Schnurrer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dinslakener Bruch. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Eiko Köhler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Eiko Köhler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kjeld Gravius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eiko Köhler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kjeld Gravius having to make a save. Luis Schnurrer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Feridun Krieglmeier went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kjeld Gravius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timm Schräder in the 44th minute. Timm Schräder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Kjeld Gravius made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Luis Schnurrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingo Keller in the 51st minute of play. A collision led to Manchester City getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Erik Wegmann hit a great ball. In the 55th match minute, Dinslakener Bruch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conny Bense to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute of the match Christof Stapf sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kjeld Gravius skillfully saved the ball. Ingo Keller struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Luis Schnurrer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dinslakener Bruch. Eiko Köhler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Dinslakener Bruch got a freekick which was hit by Lemmy Brozé. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eiko Köhler in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kjeld Gravius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Timm Schräder came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timm Schräder couldn't finish the play. The Manchester City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dinslakener Bruch's performance. The match ended with a win for Dinslakener Bruch.
