If Eckart Epping had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krampnitz FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marlishausen FC the free kick. The supporters of Marlishausen FC booed when Krampnitz FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heiner Merod didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Krampnitz FSV's zone, Eckart Epping stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Balduin Johannsen came out of the goal and Eckart Epping tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Krampnitz FSV's goalkeeper Balduin Johannsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eckart Epping in the 29th minute of play forced Krampnitz FSV's goalkeeper Balduin Johannsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heiner Merod kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Jo Ariesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stefan Limper made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Wilhelm Thommessen sent off a good shot on target. Reinhold Steeger's late challenge caught a Krampnitz FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reinhold Steeger helped the player get up and apologised. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Eckart Epping made the kick off in the second half. Marlishausen FC's Jo Ariesen got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55thth minute of the game Eckart Epping who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Krampnitz FSV's Balduin Johannsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stefan Limper stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilhelm Thommessen's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Krampnitz FSV's Balduin Johannsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eckart Epping in the 62nd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Marlishausen FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilhelm Thommessen in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Limper prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 86 minutes into the match, Krampnitz FSV's goalkeeper Balduin Johannsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jo Ariesen. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Helmuth Killmaier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marlishausen FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Helmuth Killmaier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Balduin Johannsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Krampnitz FSV fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marlishausen FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
