Ragnar Lachenmaier came out of the goal and Kurt-Jürgen Wissler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Berlin's Kurt-Jürgen Wissler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ragnar Lachenmaier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Gerold Finnern's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ragnar Lachenmaier was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

But to his dismay, Gerold Finnern quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Gunther Wohnsland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 1-2 became the score in the 80th minute when Johannes Wallek elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Kurt-Jürgen Wissler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ragnar Lachenmaier was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Kurt-Jürgen Wissler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berlin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.
