Erik Himmelreich helped the player get up and apologised. Albrecht Borgmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's Tim Jenssen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fritz Schreiner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 20 played minutes, Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's Asmus Westermann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fritz Schreiner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albrecht Borgmann in the 23rd minute of play forced Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's goalkeeper Vincent Hasselfeldt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Sven Probst hit a great ball. 1.FC Georgenhaag were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sixten Tackmann took the corner. Eduard Humpkamp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vincent Hasselfeldt having to make a save. Albrecht Borgmann was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Eduard Humpkamp, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 36 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Vincent Hasselfeldt was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After having played for 41 minutes, Albrecht Borgmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Georgenhaag's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albrecht Borgmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sven Probst's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fritz Schreiner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Tim Jenssen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Albrecht Borgmann to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, 1.FC Georgenhaag's Eduard Humpkamp nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vincent Hasselfeldt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Lauf An Der Pegnitz FSV's zone, Albrecht Borgmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincent Hasselfeldt came out of the goal and Albrecht Borgmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute of the match, Tim Jenssen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fritz Schreiner was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 64th minute, Tim Jenssen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduard Humpkamp scored 2-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vincent Hasselfeldt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th match minute, 1.FC Georgenhaag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albrecht Borgmann to maneuver through the defense. Asmus Westermann charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Asmus Westermann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute Albrecht Borgmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Hasselfeldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabian Strick during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vincent Hasselfeldt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albrecht Borgmann in the 95th minute of the match.
