Wilhelm Küpper was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the game, Nordhorner FC's Gottfried Bronnert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilhelm Küpper made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Sven Beilstein hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Gottfried Bronnert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Küpper having to interfere. Kaspar Brunnemer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of Nordhorner FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Hamburg:s goal. Jakob Goebel walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 41st minute, FC Hamburg's Gaspard Das seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gaspard Das the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Hamburg protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gaspard Das had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 45th minute, Gottfried Bronnert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gottfried Bronnert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Nordhorner FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Reinald Nürnberger hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Nordhorner FC's Kaspar Brunnemer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilhelm Küpper. That made the score 1-3 after 57 minutes of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nordhorner FC's goalkeeper Phil Strothmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Sven Beilstein got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Freddi Wering sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakob Goebel in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phil Strothmann saved Nordhorner FC from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Ricardo Mumme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jakob Goebel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Phil Strothmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Jakob Goebel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nordhorner FC's Phil Strothmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Domian Dinar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Freddi Wering managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hamburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddi Wering was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Hamburg's attack was well implemented in the 94th minute, but when Jakob Goebel was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After 96 minutes, Ricardo Mumme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nordhorner FC and the FC Hamburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. FC Hamburg's Wilhelm Küpper proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save FC Hamburg from getting a goal against them.
