Leif Hantusch was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Podbeskidzie Żory! FC Podbeskidzie Żory:s Balvis Varlamovs showed great skill when he stopped Eberhard Anbacher:s penalty. The excitement rose when TSV Gutsherren's Eberhard Anbacher after 15 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for FC Podbeskidzie Żory's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-1. Bruno Nikisch's late challenge caught a FC Podbeskidzie Żory's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Nikisch helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Podbeskidzie Żory booed when TSV Gutsherren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Nikisch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lilian Gastaud spun around in front of the goal 20 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of TSV Gutsherren's goal. A hard shot by Markus Epp from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Reinhold Krall's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Reinhold Krall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falk Schmid in the 30th minute. Eike Klingbeil charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eike Klingbeil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to TSV Gutsherren getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Eike Klingbeil hit a great ball. Carl Dörnbrack came free in the 34th minute and tried to tip the ball over Reinhold Krall, but to the joy of TSV Gutsherren's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Falk Schmid got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Lilian Gastaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Reinhold Krall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Falk Schmid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lilian Gastaud in the 62nd minute of play forced TSV Gutsherren's goalkeeper Reinhold Krall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Lilian Gastaud managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Podbeskidzie Żory's supporters rose to their feet, but Lilian Gastaud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinhold Krall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carl Dörnbrack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinhold Krall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lilian Gastaud in the 71st minute of the match. Markus Esch kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lilian Gastaud in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reinhold Krall saved TSV Gutsherren from getting behind. Carl Dörnbrack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Reinhold Krall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Lilian Gastaud made a precise shot to the right of Reinhold Krall. TSV Gutsherren's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 86th match minute, FC Podbeskidzie Żory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falk Schmid to maneuver through the defense. Roman Knecht was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. TSV Gutsherren's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
