Björn Petermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Fendt having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Curd Wilzek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Bull Augsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Curd Wilzek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Björn Petermann in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herbert Fendt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 56th minute Curd Wilzek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Figen Renz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herbert Fendt made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Patrick Nierlein sent off a good shot on target. In the 60thth minute of the game Björn Petermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red Bull Augsburg's Herbert Fendt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Kirchgellersen's Patrick Nierlein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herbert Fendt narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
