Tobias Dey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Folker Engelmann in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tobias Dey saved 1. FC Shuriaz from getting behind. Tobias Dey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julius Riehm in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Fenerbahce Cologne's Julius Riehm sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tobias Dey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Folker Engelmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hendrik Kleffel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Björn Ehret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Björn Ehret made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nuran Brausch in the 25th minute. The supporters of 1. FC Shuriaz booed when Fenerbahce Cologne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Fuhl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eitel Breitschuster kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 39thth minute of the game Julius Riehm who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1. FC Shuriaz's Tobias Dey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Fenerbahce Cologne getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Hernando Locherer hit a great ball. Björn Ehret made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Nuran Brausch sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julius Riehm in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Dey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eitel Breitschuster's late challenge caught a Fenerbahce Cologne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eitel Breitschuster helped the player get up and apologised. Eitel Breitschuster kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Tobias Dey stood somewhat misplaced when Folker Engelmann came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 56 minute. In the 61st minute Folker Engelmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Dey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Folker Engelmann struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Tobias Dey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenerbahce Cologne. Tobias Dey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folker Engelmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuran Brausch hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Folker Engelmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Dey having to interfere. A beautiful save bye Fenerbahce Cologne's goalie prevented a goal. If Julius Riehm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 1. FC Shuriaz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Folker Engelmann 93 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. The 1. FC Shuriaz supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Fenerbahce Cologne's performance. The match ended with a win for Fenerbahce Cologne.
