Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emil Schlebusch started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Gianni Scherrmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute Emil Schlebusch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gero Renner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianni Scherrmann in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gero Renner, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Godo Kraus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Götz Rohmann having to make a save. In the 15th minute, Arlo Kapp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gianni Scherrmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 played minutes Herpel FC got a freekick which was hit by Arlo Kapp. After 22 played minutes, Benrath's Slaven Hebel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gero Renner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Benrath reached it. Benrath's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Slaven Hebel in the 23rd minute. Gianni Scherrmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gero Renner having to interfere. Emil Schlebusch struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Gero Renner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Benrath. Götz Rohmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wolf-Rüdiger Uken in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Benrath's goal looked a bit too open when Wolf-Rüdiger Uken came free, but Götz Rohmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianni Scherrmann struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Gero Renner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Benrath. Gero Renner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pete Garnschröder in the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Herpel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Schlebusch came free, but Gero Renner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Benrath's Emil Schlebusch ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gero Renner. Gero Renner yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wolf-Rüdiger Uken to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Herpel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlo Kapp to maneuver through the defense. Gero Renner came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Benrath's Emil Schlebusch. But to his dismay, Emil Schlebusch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Benrath's Knut Berntsen got a free kick in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Gianni Scherrmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benrath's supporters rose to their feet, but Gianni Scherrmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gero Renner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute Wolf-Rüdiger Uken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Götz Rohmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Wolf-Rüdiger Uken took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Götz Rohmann to make any attempt to save it. If Arlo Kapp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wolf-Rüdiger Uken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Götz Rohmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emil Schlebusch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gianni Scherrmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gero Renner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Gero Renner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Schlebusch, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Benrath's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
