After 17 minutes, Rudi Federlein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Joga Bonita and the TB Richen players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Joga Bonita getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rudi Federlein hit a great ball. Dennis Kranz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Laukenmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Corvin Kreissler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Kranz having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Joga Bonita's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Laukenmann came free, but Dennis Kranz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Volker Labsch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dennis Kranz. The goal made the score 2-0. With a little luck, Joga Bonita's Dennis Kranz got control of the ball when Corvin Kreissler tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Achmed Wiegmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Achmed Wiegmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boubacar Ofori. TB Richen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Achmed Wiegmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 41st minute Bruno Abts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boubacar Ofori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Heintje Roemer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joga Bonita's supporters rose to their feet, but Heintje Roemer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boubacar Ofori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Abts to make the kick off. Boubacar Ofori made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Achmed Wiegmann sent off a good shot on target. When Nigel Paun fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TB Richen's protests and gave Nigel Paun a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Joga Bonita booed when TB Richen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nigel Paun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in TB Richen's zone, Heintje Roemer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boubacar Ofori came out of the goal and Heintje Roemer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Björn Kalter hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Laukenmann in the 63rd minute of play forced Joga Bonita's goalkeeper Dennis Kranz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Joga Bonita's Michael Stapelfeldt got a free kick in the 67th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robert Laukenmann in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dennis Kranz saved Joga Bonita from getting behind. Bruno Abts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Niklas Petrick who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Boubacar Ofori when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Achmed Wiegmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Boubacar Ofori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Kay Diederich was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TB Richen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joga Bonita the free kick. In the 91st minute, Kay Diederich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Kranz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corvin Kreissler in the 94th minute of the match. The TB Richen support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
