The audience was convinced that Robert Laukenmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilfried Goldberg was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Gottlieb Klöffer's late challenge caught a TB Richen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gottlieb Klöffer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th match minute, FC Trani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gottlieb Klöffer to maneuver through the defense. Gottlieb Klöffer was shown his second yellow card after 40 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arthur Alt made a kick off. Corvin Kreissler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Trani's Balko Hoppen got a free kick in the 56th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Laukenmann in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilfried Goldberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilfried Goldberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Laukenmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corvin Kreissler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfried Goldberg having to interfere.
