Geraer Füchse e.V.97's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domenico Klein was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 9 minutes into the game, Sevim Guggemoos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geraer Füchse e.V.97's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nordwest SV the free kick. Sevim Guggemoos kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After having played for 10 minutes, Domenico Klein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nordwest SV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domenico Klein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arne Garden made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Domenico Klein sent off a good shot on target. If Domenico Klein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eberhard Kaack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Keichler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eberhard Kaack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Nordwest SV's Torsten Koppers seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Torsten Koppers the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Nordwest SV protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Torsten Koppers had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 42nd minute, one of Nordwest SV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nordwest SV. The referee gave Geraer Füchse e.V.97 a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Konstantin Rausch, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Nordwest SV's Peter Keichler. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Peter Keichler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Holger Fritsch in the 54th minute of play. If Holger Fritsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Domenico Klein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Garden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domenico Klein in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Garden saved Geraer Füchse e.V.97 from getting behind. If Domenico Klein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Sylvio Bassen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Domenico Klein left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nordwest SV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Arne Garden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domenico Klein in the 86th minute of the match. Gordon Zapf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
