If Erhard Beier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the game, one of SV Waldhof Mannheim 07:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Emanuel Pohlplatz shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The audience was convinced that Mehmet Kuhn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marian Hensel was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. After 10 played minutes SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Zeidler. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Ephraim Haak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meuselwitz's supporters rose to their feet, but Ephraim Haak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Hensel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mehmet Kuhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. Marian Hensel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ephraim Haak, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Meuselwitz's goalkeeper Jochen Hornung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toralf Sandkühler. The supporters of SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 booed when Meuselwitz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erdal Neuwinger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mehmet Kuhn to make the kick off. Jan Viapiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jochen Hornung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Waldhof Mannheim 07's goalkeeper Marian Hensel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mehmet Kuhn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ephraim Haak charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ephraim Haak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute, Ephraim Haak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, Lovis Kastener was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meuselwitz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 the free kick. Lovis Kastener hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, SV Waldhof Mannheim 07's goalkeeper Marian Hensel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ephraim Haak. After having played for 72 minutes, Mehmet Kuhn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meuselwitz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mehmet Kuhn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marian Hensel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mehmet Kuhn's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Ephraim Haak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marian Hensel having to make a save. Marian Hensel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Kuhn in the 77th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Mehmet Kuhn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Hensel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erdal Neuwinger in the 85th minute of play forced SV Waldhof Mannheim 07's goalkeeper Marian Hensel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Meuselwitz's Mehmet Kuhn got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marian Hensel was a little too slow when Mehmet Kuhn got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-2. In the 93rd match minute, SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralf Zeidler to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Meuselwitz could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 throughout the match.
