In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elberfelder FC's goalkeeper Jeff Westerwelle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elard Krumbe during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of HBallers FC booed when Elberfelder FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elard Krumbe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeff Westerwelle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bonifaz Köddermann's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Norbert Dorn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Orson Brocker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Bonifaz Köddermann made a precise shot to the right of Jeff Westerwelle. Elberfelder FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Martin Westerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Westerwelle having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Elberfelder FC's Ibrahim Caspers got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Elberfelder FC's zone, Martin Westerman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeff Westerwelle came out of the goal and Martin Westerman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Westerman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 40 minutes, Norbert Dorn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elberfelder FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norbert Dorn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Elberfelder FC's zone, Bonifaz Köddermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeff Westerwelle came out of the goal and Bonifaz Köddermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Elberfelder FC's Dennis Pangerl got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Martin Westerman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeff Westerwelle was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Elberfelder FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Martin Westerman 68 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. If Martin Westerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elard Krumbe in the 77th minute of play forced HBallers FC's goalkeeper Orson Brocker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonifaz Köddermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jeff Westerwelle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
