Zlatan Knebel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arne Gerke charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arne Gerke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Harvard University was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Gerke to maneuver through the defense. After 15 minutes of play, FC Tayphoon Köln's Dustin Toll made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simon Peitsch was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, FC Tayphoon Köln's Jim Hein got control of the ball when Hilbert Raubach tried to sneak it across the goal line. Simon Peitsch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dustin Toll in the 24th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Harvard University's goal looked a bit too open when Zlatan Knebel came free, but Simon Peitsch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arne Schrader hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Cees Ernemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FC Tayphoon Köln getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ingmar Brüning hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pete Jager during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th match minute, FC Tayphoon Köln was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pete Jager to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Cees Ernemann in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Tayphoon Köln's goalkeeper Jim Hein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Lars Scheck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Tayphoon Köln's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Harvard University the free kick. Hilbert Raubach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jim Hein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cees Ernemann struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Jim Hein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Harvard University. The supporters of Harvard University booed when FC Tayphoon Köln was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pete Jager didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cees Ernemann came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Harvard University fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cees Ernemann couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute, Hilbert Raubach left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Harvard University fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Harvard University's zone, Dustin Toll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Peitsch came out of the goal and Dustin Toll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the match, FC Tayphoon Köln's goal looked a bit too open when Cees Ernemann came free, but Jim Hein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jim Hein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cees Ernemann's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. After 82 played minutes FC Tayphoon Köln got a freekick which was hit by Ole Naab. After 85 minutes of play, Harvard University's Cees Ernemann made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Tayphoon Köln players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Harvard University.
