Simon Peitsch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Cees Ernemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Bendix Stube ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Peitsch was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Axel Elsner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Simon Peitsch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Harvard University's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Elsner came free, but Simon Peitsch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hilbert Raubach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cees Ernemann made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Cees Ernemann notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Arnum Strikers's Spike Gruteser. Spike Gruteser was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 60th minute, Arne Schrader got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Arnum Strikers's Paul Welz got a free kick in the 61st minute. Simon Peitsch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Elsner in the 64th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Harvard University got a freekick which was hit by Haiko Schimmöller. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Elsner in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Peitsch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Simon Peitsch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Elsner in the 74th minute of play. Axel Elsner struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Simon Peitsch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arnum Strikers. Simon Peitsch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Elsner in the 85th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Arnum Strikers eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
