When Harald Osterkamp came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the FCИ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harald Osterkamp couldn't finish the play. Sigurd Siberichs charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sigurd Siberichs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Gerenort getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Sigurd Siberichs hit a great ball. Ibrahim Noll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dan Fricke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walther Seitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Fricke, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. FCИ's Walther Seitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Fricke in the 19th minute of play. Magnus Kuhr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Walther Seitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Dan Fricke dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Walther Seitz, 1-0. Walther Seitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Fricke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walther Seitz made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Magnus Kuhr sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 33 minutes, Magnus Kuhr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gerenort's supporters crossed their fingers, but Magnus Kuhr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, FCИ's Walther Seitz got control of the ball when Magnus Kuhr tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dan Fricke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walther Seitz having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Dan Fricke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Fricke in the 59th minute of play forced FCИ's goalkeeper Walther Seitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brix Insel during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st minute, Brix Insel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dan Fricke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Magnus Kuhr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 80 minutes, Magnus Kuhr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gerenort's supporters crossed their fingers, but Magnus Kuhr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dan Fricke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walther Seitz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind FCИ's goalkeeper Walther Seitz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FCИ's zone, Magnus Kuhr stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walther Seitz came out of the goal and Magnus Kuhr tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Dan Fricke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walther Seitz was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. After 91 minutes, Kamil Schmotz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCИ and the Gerenort players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FCИ's Kamil Schmotz got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute Dan Fricke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walther Seitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magnus Kuhr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Walther Seitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerenort's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
