Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Haast's goal looked a bit too open when Cosimo Brenner came free, but Pascal Richerzhagen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute of the match Brian Eschlimann shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pascal Richerzhagen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cosimo Brenner in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pascal Richerzhagen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. BVB's Michael Elbert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Carlebach in the 12th minute of play. In the 18th minute Jonathan Carlebach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Elbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes, Cosimo Brenner made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Haast's Pascal Richerzhagen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonas Schnoor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Lajos Bier managed to get in a good position for a shot. BVB's supporters rose to their feet, but Lajos Bier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascal Richerzhagen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Hermann Heesen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cosimo Brenner in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pascal Richerzhagen saved Haast from getting behind. Patrick Oliver Stapel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Pascal Richerzhagen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haast's Pascal Richerzhagen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lajos Bier in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute of the match Lewin Rodekamp shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pascal Richerzhagen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. BVB's Patrick Oliver Stapel got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Cosimo Brenner sped through Haast's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pascal Richerzhagen. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The supporters of Haast booed when BVB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lajos Bier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Haast defense, Jonas Schnoor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pascal Richerzhagen. The Haast fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pascal Richerzhagen should have stopped the shot. Lajos Bier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pascal Richerzhagen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Oliver Stapel, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. If Aydin Jahn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lajos Bier in the 65th minute of play forced Haast's goalkeeper Pascal Richerzhagen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Carlebach in the 68th minute of play forced BVB's goalkeeper Michael Elbert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, BVB's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Gehse came free, but Michael Elbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Berlich charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Berlich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 73rd minute, Mark Berlich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Elbert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Carlebach in the 75th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Haast's Alois Kallweit seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alois Kallweit the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Haast protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alois Kallweit had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Haast fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! Jonas Schnoor shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Cosimo Brenner sped through Haast's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pascal Richerzhagen. Cosimo Brenners short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Pascal Richerzhagen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Timo Tiedke hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, BVB's Cosimo Brenner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pascal Richerzhagen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. BVB's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
