Nils Steininger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Neidlein having to interfere. Walt Peleikis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Björn Zöllmer in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baldur Hiemann saved Schachthalden from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walt Peleikis in the 15th minute of play forced Schachthalden's goalkeeper Baldur Hiemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17thth minute of the game Walt Peleikis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schachthalden's Baldur Hiemann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Heilbronn's Björn Zöllmer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baldur Hiemann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Baldur Hiemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walt Peleikis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Siegfried Hildebrandt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Heilbronn's Robert Neidlein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Heilbronn from getting a goal against them. Matti Bieling charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matti Bieling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Matti Bieling hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Björn Zöllmer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute Walt Peleikis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldur Hiemann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Walt Peleikis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baldur Hiemann was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 43rd match minute, Heilbronn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Zöllmer to maneuver through the defense. Nils Steininger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Björn Zöllmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Björn Zöllmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldur Hiemann having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walt Peleikis to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Schachthalden got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Kuinke. If Björn Zöllmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matti Bieling was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 61 minutes into the game, Thilo Emden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Heilbronn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schachthalden the free kick. Thilo Emden kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Walt Peleikis lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Baldur Hiemann. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walt Peleikis in the 69th minute of play forced Schachthalden's goalkeeper Baldur Hiemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Heilbronn's zone, Siegfried Hildebrandt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robert Neidlein came out of the goal and Siegfried Hildebrandt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Heilbronn's Walt Peleikis in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Schachthalden's goalie prevented a goal. 79 minutes into the match, Björn Zöllmer notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Schachthalden's Baldur Hiemann. Baldur Hiemann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Björn Zöllmers short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Baldur Hiemann to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Josip Scholtz shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 89th minute, Nils Steininger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walt Peleikis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldur Hiemann having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Walt Peleikis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baldur Hiemann was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schachthalden's goalkeeper Baldur Hiemann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
