Sven Reichenbach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Martin Abascal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Aachener FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Romed Canel hit a great ball. Gero Hörnle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedikt Stirböck in the 16th minute of play. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Oliver Ünlü sped through 1FC Gamingking's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sven Reichenbach. A collision led to 1FC Gamingking getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Paolo Waerdt hit a great ball. Sven Reichenbach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Ünlü in the 33rd minute of play. Oliver Ünlü recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 0-2 became the score in the 36th minute when Romed Canel elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 1FC Gamingking's Martin Abascal came free and shot a quick shot against goal 41 minutes in the game, fortunately Gero Hörnle had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 44 minutes into the game, Paul Müller was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aachener FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 1FC Gamingking the free kick. A collision led to Aachener FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Paul Müller hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Dustin Vohwinkel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gero Hörnle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Abascal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Gero Hörnle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romed Canel to make the kick off. Romed Canel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Reichenbach having to interfere. Herbert Guggemoos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Martin Abascal scored 1-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gero Hörnle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 1FC Gamingking's Sven Reichenbach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romed Canel in the 69th minute of play. Sven Reichenbach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romed Canel, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in 1FC Gamingking's zone, Romed Canel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven Reichenbach came out of the goal and Romed Canel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Abascal in the 87th minute of play forced Aachener FC's goalkeeper Gero Hörnle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gero Hörnle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berthold Geske, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Martin Abascal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gero Hörnle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven Reichenbach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Boehme, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aachener FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
