Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Luka Strohmayer made the kick off which started today's match. In the 2nd match minute, FC Kusel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Brüning to maneuver through the defense. Frederik Wanner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xerxes Hauffen having to interfere. Horst Dreher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Brüning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of FC Kusel booed when Lautern FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederik Wanner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horst Dreher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergej Maluga's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute Sergej Maluga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horst Dreher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Luka Strohmayer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lautern FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luka Strohmayer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xerxes Hauffen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Lautern FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bastiaan Trube came free, but Horst Dreher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Brüning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Horst Dreher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lautern FC's Norman Schick got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Lars Brüning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horst Dreher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Brüning in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Brüning in the 47th minute of play forced Lautern FC's goalkeeper Horst Dreher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sergej Maluga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Björn Jensch fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Kusel's protests and gave Björn Jensch a yellow card for diving instead. If Lars Brüning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horst Dreher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergej Maluga in the 71st minute of play. Xerxes Hauffen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philipp Rathje, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Tom Bentin in the 74th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lautern FC's Hanno Kissel. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luka Strohmayer in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xerxes Hauffen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lautern FC's Horst Dreher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergej Maluga in the 79th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Gunter Rogowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horst Dreher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lars Brüning in the 89th minute. Claas Fey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Sergej Maluga fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
