The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luka Strohmayer might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ilja Sieg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luka Strohmayer ran back to his position shaking his head. Claas Fey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilja Sieg having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Claas Fey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ilja Sieg. The goal made the score 1-0. Lautern FC's Horst Dreher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naohiro Hoff in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Naohiro Hoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horst Dreher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ilja Sieg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luka Strohmayer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 35 minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Croatia United's goalkeeper Ilja Sieg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luka Strohmayer. 39 minutes into the match, Luka Strohmayer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ilja Sieg, 3-0. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luka Strohmayer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Hellmut Brill fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Croatia United's protests and gave Hellmut Brill a yellow card for diving instead. Croatia United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ilja Sieg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luka Strohmayer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luka Strohmayer scored 5-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilja Sieg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Croatia United booed when Lautern FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Schick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautern FC had played much better football throughout.
