In the 3rd minute of the match Hippolyt Rombach sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Witold Anton skillfully saved the ball. Bartholomäus Grüning came out of the goal and Jörg Wessendorf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörg Wessendorf in the 18th minute of play forced Dörenhagen FSV's goalkeeper Bartholomäus Grüning to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Bartholomäus Grüning made a huge save. Bartholomäus Grüning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörg Wessendorf in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute, Carl Eggenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Emanuel Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jörg Wessendorf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartholomäus Grüning having to interfere. Witold Anton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Körper, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. A collision led to Suttrop FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Alessandro Bresack hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Suttrop FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wolfgang Reich came free, but Witold Anton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jörg Wessendorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wolfgang Reich stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Simon Körper's late challenge caught a Suttrop FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Körper helped the player get up and apologised. Simon Körper hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute Emanuel Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartholomäus Grüning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 played minutes Suttrop FC got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Bresack. Hippolyt Rombach charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hippolyt Rombach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st match minute, Dörenhagen FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hippolyt Rombach to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Suttrop FC's Fabrizio Mittrenga got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Simon Körper managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dörenhagen FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Körper was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Dörenhagen FSV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Suttrop FC:s goal. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Suttrop FC. Sascha Lintner stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bartholomäus Grüning. 2-0. When Jörg Wessendorf came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Suttrop FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörg Wessendorf couldn't finish the play. Jörg Wessendorf scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bartholomäus Grüning, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Suttrop FC's Witold Anton got control of the ball when Ahmet Lingnau tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Simon Körper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
