When Achim Schollenberger fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ESV Fortuna Celle's protests and gave Achim Schollenberger a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ESV Fortuna Celle getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Achim Schollenberger hit a great ball. Steffen Redda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Birke in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörn Reichardt in the 12th minute of play forced ESV Fortuna Celle's goalkeeper Steffen Redda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Achim Schollenberger sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Friedrich Beisel threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Achim Schollenberger this time. Steffen Redda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Birke in the 14th minute of the match. When Martin Birke came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Barcelona Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Birke couldn't finish the play. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 36th match minute, ESV Fortuna Celle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Achim Schollenberger to maneuver through the defense. Sam Pehr scored 2-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steffen Redda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joachim Ottmar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kamil Zettel made a kick off. Kamil Zettel struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Friedrich Beisel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ESV Fortuna Celle. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Guido Beekhuis put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in ESV Fortuna Celle fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Dieter Schnitzler managed to get in a good position for a shot. ESV Fortuna Celle's supporters rose to their feet, but Dieter Schnitzler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Friedrich Beisel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the game, Sam Pehr was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barcelona Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ESV Fortuna Celle the free kick. Sam Pehr kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. ESV Fortuna Celle's Joachim Ottmar got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dieter Schnitzler hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Jörn Reichardt took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Steffen Redda to make any attempt to save it. Friedrich Beisel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephan Ellermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Dieter Schnitzler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Friedrich Beisel having to interfere. Jörn Reichardt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steffen Redda having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Kamil Zettel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in ESV Fortuna Celle's zone, Martin Birke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steffen Redda came out of the goal and Martin Birke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barcelona Juniors's Lars Pichotta got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stephan Ellermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Joachim Ottmar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dieter Schnitzler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Friedrich Beisel having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Barcelona Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Ellermann came free, but Friedrich Beisel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dieter Schnitzler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Friedrich Beisel having to make a save. Steffen Redda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Birke in the 98th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Barcelona Juniors were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant ESV Fortuna Celle side.
