With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dirk Yentür prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian Scholtz in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dirk Yentür saved Oberhagen from getting behind. Mischa Gehl might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dirk Yentür. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mischa Gehl ran back to his position shaking his head. Oberhagen's Dirk Yentür played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Scholtz in the 24th minute of play. When VfL Wolfsburg's Mischa Gehl in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. VfL Wolfsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matt Graul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute Mischa Gehl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk Yentür saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Damian Scholtz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the VfL Wolfsburg fans jumped to their feet. VfL Wolfsburg played a much better game than Oberhagen and deserved their victory. The Oberhagen players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
