Niko Hahn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Freddy Freytag made a huge save. VfL Wolfsburg's Matt Graul managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eddi Bossert in the 53 minute of the game. But to his dismay, Ben Homeyer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 69th minute Klaas Bolle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Freytag saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
