After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Erik Franke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kottweil's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Franke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Franke was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, René Backes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Harald Peters. The goal made the score 0-2. René Backes got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Harald Peters handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Kottweil's Harald Peters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Kottweil from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Kottweil getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Frido Meiswinkel hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, René Backes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Harald Peters was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kaltau FSV eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
