Kottweil's Klaas Früchtl pulled a muscle in his back after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 28th match minute, FC Hofmühle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folker Fortuna to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 33 minutes, Erik Franke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kottweil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Franke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Harald Peters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Niklas Hutmacher came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Kottweil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niklas Hutmacher couldn't finish the play. If Frido Meiswinkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kottweil's Sebastian Breithaupt got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Frido Meiswinkel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikolaos Philipp having to interfere. Kottweil played a much better game than FC Hofmühle and deserved their victory. The FC Hofmühle players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
